ABOUT THE CLUB
Our club was organized June 7, 1929. We don't know how many members made up
the club in those days but it is likely there were fewer than 50. In fact in the
1980s, some 50 years later, there were fewer than 100. We have grown greatly in
the past twenty years with membership of three hundred or more for most of the
1990s. The Harvard Club of the Research Triangle is privileged to be one of
the largest Harvard alumni clubs in the world. We have consistently ranked among
the top ten Harvard clubs thanks to a dedicated Board of Directors, an active
Programs Committee, and the enthusiastic participation of alumni and friends of
Harvard University. The Club serves two primary purposes - sponsoring
innovative local activities for members and providing programs that support
current and potential Harvard students. The Club makes a special effort to
sponsor events designed to serve the diverse interests of central North Carolina
alumni. Members of our Club receive reservation priority and pricing discounts
for most programs. The student-focused activities help Harvard College attract
outstanding high school students from our area and provide a connection between
current Harvard students and our local Club.
We need input from all Club members to insure we are providing programs that
meet the interests and needs of the alumni community. If you have ideas for
future events, questions about the Club’s goals and programs, or would like to
volunteer your services for Club activities, please contact any of the listed
Directors.
If you are a Harvard alumnus, we invite you to join the club
and reconnect with your Harvard experience. |
